Spiritual Significance

Although we don't know the specific purpose of this bowl, studies of later Native American cultures suggest that bowls in animal forms served religious functions. Traditional Native Americans have long considered animals as their brothers and sisters and have often attributed spiritual powers to them. The Caddo may have regarded birds as spiritual creatures.
