Edward K. Thomas

U.S. Army sergeant Edward K. Thomas was stationed at Fort Snelling between 1849 and 1851. While there, he painted at least four views of the fort and its surroundings. Although he was a self-taught artist, he showed the fort and its surroundings in great detail.
