Primary Standard: Family, School, and Community Investigate the religious beliefs and social customs of various peoples by viewing and discussing the unit's eight visual images, which represent diverse cultures. To complement study of the Bridge-Spout Vessel in the Form of a Fish, discuss how government policies affect animals and the natural environment in the local community. (See Amazing Animals Activities, Social Studies.) To complement study of the Chinese Horse ceramic, discuss what future archaeologists' excavations near the school might reveal, and develop a time capsule that contains items representative of the school and community. (See Amazing Animals Activities, Social Studies.) To complement study of the Benin Leopard, consider and create an animal symbol that reflects personal and cultural characteristics and family history. (See Amazing Animals Activities, Art.) |
