Use it online!.	Primary Level: Grades K-3 Primary Standard: Direct Science Experience View and discuss Moths, Caterpillar, and Foliage, a print that illustrates the stages of a moth's development. Do science- related activities, which include (1) taking a nature walk to collect and study various insects and keeping a log of observations, and (2) researching and writing a report on other insects and animals that undergo a metamorphosis (e.g., butterfly, frog). Do an activity related to both art and science to complement study of the print Moths, Caterpillar, and Foliage: (1) collect insects and examine them under a microscope, or collect enlarged pictures of insects, (2) make detailed drawings of the insects, closely replicating patterns and shapes, and (3) make prints of the insect drawings. (See Amazing Animals Activities, Art). View and discuss Bridge-Spout Vessel in the Form of a Fish, a ceramic work. Do science-related activities, which include (1) discussing the importance of water and the natural environment, and (2) writing a report on ways in which environment affects everyday life. (See Amazing Animals Activities, Science.) Do an activity related to both art and science to complement study of the Bridge-Spout Vessel in the Form of a Fish: (1) draw an animal representative of a particular natural environment, or (2) construct a clay vessel reflecting a particular environment, keeping in mind the climate, needs of the inhabitants (people and animals), and level of technology. Do extension activities related to the unit's theme: (1) prepare and present a report on an animal, including its eating habits, environment, life span, and how it has been represented in art, and (2) discuss the biological classification of animals.
