How was it used?

As an ARCHAEOLOGIST, I visit places like the ancient Mayan burial grounds of Jaina (HY- nah). My job is to learn about CULTURES through the objects they created, known as ARTIFACTS. Many cultures buried the dead with artifacts that can tell us something about the way they lived. The ancient Egyptians and Greeks did, and so did the Chinese, to name just a few.

What objects do we place with people today when they die?
