The teapot was fired in the third and largest of the kiln's four chambers. It was fired unglazed. Water was allowed into this chamber, to increase oxidation. As a result of the conditions in the firing chamber, the teapot has patterns ranging in color from soft blacks to vibrant reds, oranges, browns, and blues. |
