In this section the images you see are brought to you by KTCA of St. Paul, Minnesota, and John Whitehead, the producer of "Clay, Wood, Fire, Spirit," a video on Richard Bresnahan.

Once the clay pieces are dry, they are fired in a kiln.

Bresnahan built a special wood-firing kiln at St. John's out of recycled brick and other materials. He named the kiln "Johanna," after his teacher, Sister Johanna Becker.

The kiln is fueled by deadfall trees from the grounds of St. John's and waste wood from local manufacturers.

The kiln has four chambers, each serving a different purpose.
